“Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter; Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here…” If this awesome release from Simon Says Stamp could have a theme song this would be it because here comes the sun, friends! The Pure Sunshine release is here and it’s fabulous, and I am so lucky to be a part of this celebratory and sun-shiny blog hop showcasing the new products! There’s lots of inspiration on this hop, along with fun prizes, so hop all the way through to the caboose of this party train. I made this shaker card using the new Lots of Stars stamp set and Mini Stars craft die - I started by cutting a piece of blue watercolor patterned paper and stamping the small stars in Simon Says Stamp’s Soft Navy ink after cutting it into a circle shape. That same circle die, along with a scalloped circle, were used to trim the border from matching cardstock. I then used the mini star die to cut yellow stars from my new favorite yellow paper (Lemon Chiffon from the SSS Daybreak color release) as well as from some striped yellow paper. The moon was cut using a circle punch and a small yellow thread was adhered to the moon where I wanted the white star to hang from.
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Bring the Sunshine stamp set on the acetate with Versamark and white embossing powder (though I had to steal the ampersand to complete my sentiment from this previously released set). I then added the “shine” diecut which was trimmed using the Sun and Sunshine craft die. This was layered on top of the acetate, along with a larger white star - these were actually cut from glitter cardstock and appear super sparkly in person. So fun! The last bit was layering and adhering the card so that the tiny yellow bits are all inside the shaker.

I was thinking-how did she get those tiny letters pasted on there with no glue residue? Also, it took me a minute to scroll down to comment, which says something pretty amazing about you and the crafting community. :)
