For this week’s Papertrey Ink Moments Inked newsletter, I am highlighting ways to incorporate journaling prompts into your planner. I’ve realized that there is a huge community using their planners as journals in a variety of ways, and today I have chosen three different ways to do this. I’ve never kept a traditional journal, but I have enjoyed this so much that I am considering making it part of my daily routine.

Each of the three online resources are free and super easy to follow. The first site is the #ListersGottaList challenge, which features a PDF of daily prompts that issued each month. You can sign up to receive the new prompts by email on Cori’s site, where you can also retrieve old challenge lists. If you are on Instagram, there’s a huge community of folks participating in this fun challenge. I really like this one because the prompts include a mixture of topics. Below I’ve created a list of songs that I am currently listening to - so funny to see such a variety of genres on my list! I used PTI ink cubes in Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores and the Moments Inked: Posted stamp set to create my list. I love the flexibility of creating these post-it notes because they can easily be transferred into my memory keeping/photo albums!

The next website is actually an Instagram account run by Dr. Akiyo Kano, The Journaling Sage. Each day there are questions hand-written onto a post-it note, and my gosh! These really make me think. Hard. I love not knowing what the next day’s question will be. The other day’s prompt asked us to list the ways we show abundance. I really had to think about this, and struggled with whether or not these were things that had to be done with intention or not. I decided that it probably did not matter since I could not make up my mind, LOL. I used the daily pages from the Moments Inked planner for this, and created a label for the prompt using some white paper and the lines image from the Moments Inked: Listed stamp set, which were stamped with Sweet Blush ink.

You might remember that I took these pages out of my planner; I keep them stored in a bin like this for now:

Another source of journaling prompts that I found is a website called Journal52, which provides weekly inspiration. This week’s prompt was simply the word “Hope” so I went a head and created an insert using the lines image from Listed along with the Moments Inked Divided Die and Divided stamp set to list some of the things that I am hopeful for at this time. I am going to add more as the week goes on:

For this insert, I used Soft Stone to stamp the lines very faintly onto Aqua Mist card stock. I’ve also really been loving the Sharpie pens for writing in my planner.

I hope this gives you some ideas about other ways to use your planner. If longer lists are your thing, you could even use the daily columns from the weekly layout to list your daily thoughts. I’d love to know if you have any personal favorites for journaling prompts, too. Thanks for stopping by today!

I can’t wait for the next 2016 Momentsinked planner to be available. I’ve been waiting since March. I already had a 2015. Have purchased many of the dies to be ready. :)
