Warmest Wishes

Hey everyone - hope you’re having a great weekend. I have to admit - after a crazy week at home and at work, I was glad to wake up to Saturday. Even better, I met a super nice local crafter…she stopped by to look at some supplies that I am parting with (I’ve been paring down a lot lately, as some of you know). It’s always so nice to meet such nice people! After her visit I had a chance to play with some of the new Simon Says Stamp release goodies, and came up with this card.

This whole card was inspired by the candy-cane stripe patterned paper from Pink Paislee’s City Sidewalks collection. I diecut the stitched banner using a shape from the Bundle of Stitched Shapes collection. Next, I stamped the sentiment and bird from Build a Snowman onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with black and red Versafine inks, then trimming the layer into a coordinating banner shape to layer over the striped layer. Before doing this, though, I added a silver twine bow.

You can see how the background was created with the Flower Pattern stencil and embossing paste that was tinted pink with a little bit of red reinker. That was layered over some red cardstock and added to the gray card base…and this project was done! It was actually really easy to put together - a reminder that I should be using more stencils since I love the look they create!

Wow! What a great new to hear that you met a new crafty friend. I’m glad you had a nice weekend! Love your card, Suzanne. I didn’t noticed that you used the stencil and embossing paste to create your flora background. I’m sure it looks way better in real life. I also love you used the tags upside down. So unique!
