Hi there! Long time, no see! We’ve been busy here - lots of traveling and fun vacation to take at this time of year, but I couldn’t miss the chance to post a card using some of the new products that have been released by Simon Says Stamp. The Color of Fun release is pretty awesome, and has something for everyone (including LOTS of new ink colors), so I think you should check it out!
When I saw the carousel horse die, I immediately thought of a carnival or amusement park, so I chose to work with patterned papers fitting that theme. I started off by blending the new Hollyhock ink from SSS with some Tim Holtz Mustard Seed to create the shade of orange that I was looking for - I wanted to trim the Birthday Circle die from some lighter weight card stock to make sure that it cut nicely. Since my orange card stock is fairly heavy, I chose to color some thin white card stock instead.

Next I cut the Carousel Horse and Sunshine shapes and layered everything together until I liked how it looked. :) The silver glitter tape was fun to add to this card, as was the stitching. I added the red enamel dots, and think this came out really cute for a kids birthday card!
Thanks very much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend, too!
