Sending a Happy Gram

Happy Friday! Last night I signed up for Summer Card Camp 2, and made this card for Pre-Class Challenge 2. I love the font on this Hero Arts sentiment, which was also stamped in Hero Arts navy ink, my most favorite of favorite navy inks! The patterned paper and flowers are from Fancy Pants, and I used the stitched rectangles from Lil’ Inker Designs to create the rectangle frame.

Are you signing up for Camp too? I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge for this week, since “anything goes”! Have an awesome weekend!

Lil’ Inker Designs June Release Hop Day 1

By Suzanne

Hello, hello!!! I’ve been excited for this Lil’ Inker Designs release for quite some time! This is Day 1 of a 4-day release, and if you’re hopping along with us you may have arrived here from Sarah Jay’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can always head back to the Lil’ Inker Designs Blog to start the hop from the beginning.

All of the new release products are currently available in the store, but today we are featuring two of the new items: the Pieced Chevron Die and Stitched Mats: Circles, both of which are featured on my first card.

June17BlogHopI decided to make a very monochromatic white card using the Stitched Mats: Circles and the previously released Stitched Mats: Rectangles, along with a Prima flower, the gold glitter Thickers from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection, some gold Mr. Huey’s and several diecuts from the Pieced Chevron Die:

For my second card, I wanted to use patterned paper - these are a combination of designs from SEI and Little Yellow Bicycle, but the rub-ons and flair are from Fancy Pants. I used the Stitched Mats: Circles to diecut the center panel:

Here’s a closeup of the stitching. I made my own flag by adding the rub-on to a strip of white paper and then adhering it to the pearl stick pin:

One of the BEST parts of these circles dies, which make them unique from any other die that’s available, is that these dies also leave stitching on the negative portion of the diecut. Here’s an extra card that I made to show you what I am talking about:

Can you see the stitching that was left along the edge of the area where the circle was cut from? Yeah, I think you NEED these!

Your next stop on this hop is Taheerah’s blog! Thanks for stopping by, and good luck winning one of this month’s Lil’ Inker prizes!

Pattern Play Day 4

By Suzanne

_DSC0011

I have been a bad card class student and am playing catch-up on my homework! I was inspired by Shari Carroll’s video on Day 4 of Pattern Play, so tonight I made this card using the March Simon Says Stamp card kit.

I combined 3 patterned papers and lots of stickers on this one, and no stamps! I was inspired by this week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, but I am not really sure this qualifies as CAS - what do you think? Yay or nay, please help me decide! Edited to add: CFC girls…I linked up, but you are free to give me the boot if this isn’t quite CAS enough. :)

How was your day? I went to breakfast this morning with my family for my sisters’ birthday, to a place that is only a couple miles down the road, but have not visited in nearly 9 nine years! I think I need to start going there more often - the pancakes were divine! I was able to squeeze in some work, and spend the afternoon shopping with my hubby…so fun!

All in all, a pretty good day!

monday mojo 186

By Suzanne

Here’s my first attempt at the Monday Mojo Challenge!!! It’s a sketch challenge, and I really enjoyed making today’s card. You should play along too!

I took some liberty with the scallops since they didn’t fit very well behind the sparkle frame. :)

I am searching for sentiment sets that have some ca-chunk to the lettering, such as the one I used on this card, but without being too BIG in size. If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them! Thanks so much!

Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}: Stamps: Say It with Style; Paper: Ocean Tides, Red, Patterned paper & stickers all by October Afternoon (Modern Homemaker collection); Ink: Enchanted Evening; Other: DMC floss, sparkle frame by Making Memories, Jolee’s rhinestones, Prima flowers, rhinestone brad from SU!, scalloped border die
