I had a great time today at Liz’s house, where we had a holiday shoebox swap for 11 people. We could use any products that we wanted, but our card had to be assembled in 10 minutes or less. This was the card that I made and I just wanted to pop in really quickly to share it.
The striped cardstock, gold washi tape, and poinsettia dies are all from A Muse Studio. I paired them with an adorable sentiment from Hero Arts’ Holiday Sayings and the chartreuse strip that was diecut using PTI’s Half and Half die.
Hope you had a fun weekend! It was a busy one for us - besides the swap, we went to the movies for the first time in ages, I had chicken parm two nights in a row (so awesome!) and I went to see my grandma too. Now, off to get some rest!
Hugs,
Suzanne
Hope you all had a fun weekend! I wanted to share a card that I made for a holiday shoebox swap at Ink About It, one of my local stamp shops. The theme was “Something Old, Something New,” and I chose to use a new Memory Box die and stamp with some old paper and embellishments to make this Halloween card. We could choose any holiday: Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas, and the card had to be assembled in 10 minutes or less.
I used the same layout as I did on this card, which was made using Neat and Tangled stamps. The gingham paper is from A Muse, as it the pebble cardstock on the banner. The orange and black papers are from Bazzill, and I used a My Favorite Things Stax die to cut the orange window layer.
In total we made 16 cards, I am excited to send some of these creations to my craftiest friends! I know they’ll love them.
XOXO,
I had every intention of crafting last night after dinner, so that I could photograph some cards when I got into work this morning (yes, I am at work on a Sunday, an entirely separate issue in and of itself) - I photograph my cards on the window sill in my office. HOWEVER, yours truly fell asleep on the sofa just before 8pm.
Instead, I realized I never shared the cards from the shoebox swap that Jessica organized a few weeks ago…so I have those to share for today:
This is the card that I made for everyone - I was totally inspired by something that I saw on Betsy Veldman’s blog a while ago. I left it without a sentiment figuring that people could use this for Easter, Mother’s Day, birthday, etc.
Here’s Jayne’s card. I believe those stamps are from Close to My Heart. I love this because I generally avoid stamps that require coloring, but to be honest the coloring on this one was minimal (=doable for me) and I just love how it came out. SO SWEET.
Next up is Dena’s card. I am head over heels in love with the kite die from My Favorite Things. And I really love the technique we used to ink those clouds. Fabulous idea!
Lastly, we have the lovely Jessica’s card. This card allowed me to play with the Sending You set before I ordered it. It is an awesome card. I loved using the gigham stamps, which weren’t too tough to line up, and as always, Jessica’s perfect choice of bright bold colors had me hooked.
Have a great Sunday!
