It’s my last week as one of this month’s headliners over on the most awesome Retrosketches Challenge blog, and I can’t thank Arielle enough for having me! This week’s sketch is based on a card made by the other headliner this month, Jen Wills:
I rotated sketch, and then I was inspired by all the lines in the tree trunks to use the large Halloween sentiment stamp from Purple Onion Designs. I paired it with some patterned paper from My Minds Eye and added some Kaiser Craft sparklets as the circles. This could be the last Halloween card of the year, and I need to get some of these out in the mail today!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you all had a fun weekend! I wanted to share a card that I made for a holiday shoebox swap at Ink About It, one of my local stamp shops. The theme was “Something Old, Something New,” and I chose to use a new Memory Box die and stamp with some old paper and embellishments to make this Halloween card. We could choose any holiday: Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas, and the card had to be assembled in 10 minutes or less.
I used the same layout as I did on this card, which was made using Neat and Tangled stamps. The gingham paper is from A Muse, as it the pebble cardstock on the banner. The orange and black papers are from Bazzill, and I used a My Favorite Things Stax die to cut the orange window layer.
In total we made 16 cards, I am excited to send some of these creations to my craftiest friends! I know they’ll love them.
XOXO,
It’s time for the September Cloud9 Blog Hop and I’m playing along using the Wplus9 stamp set called A Pocketful: Halloween since this month’s inspiration photo is all about this fun holiday. Check it out here!
The blog hop goes on for 3 days to give everyone plenty of time to play along, and you have a chance to win a gift certificate to Wplus9 or a spot as our designer next month! You can find all the details over on the Cloud9 blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello! Happy World Card Making Day! I am psyched to tell you that the lovely Arielle Gordon has invited me to be the October Headliner on the Retrosketches blog! Woo hoo!
Knowing how much Arielle loves candy corn, today’s card was inspired by her. I used an A Muse Studio stamp set called Candy Corn Kisses, and paired it with patterned papers from Authentique Paper’s Enchanted line.
I used distress ink and glitter to decorate the sentiment panel, and diecut a button from patterned paper using a Memory Box die; it was colored yellow to match the candy corns.

I finished the button off with some May Arts black jute twine and added glitter to the candy before putting this all together. I think I need more colors of glitter.
I’m getting excited for Halloween! Have a fun long weekend!

The Neat and Tangled Design Team is celebrating Halloween and has some inspiration for you on the Neat and Tangled blog today. Here’s a sneak peek of my project using Graveyard Shift…head on over to see more. I am sure you don’t want to miss what my fabulous team members have to share!

Hello, everyone! Is there a chill in the air where you live yet? It arrived in full force here in New England this week, and I love it. It’s time for Fall, and this week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is all about Fall fun:
Our sponsor this week is Great Impressions, and my card today uses this image from their store.
I used patterned papers from Carta Bella, as well as some alphabet dies from Memory Box. I really love how the spider web paper ties together with the webs in the tree image. I finished the front of the card off with a rounded corner and some stitching marks across the front.
Do you make Halloween cards? Have you started yours yet?
Happy Weekend!
Today I am posting for this week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, which is to make a card using black and white and a pop of one color.
I am also wicked excited to tell you that this week’s sponsor is Neat and Tangled!
For my card, I used the newly released Graveyard Shift to make a Halloween card for my hubby. I combined sentiments from Just Hello and Halloween Scene to make the sentiment for this card. All of the Neat and Tangled images are hand-drawn by Danielle Walls… I just love her handwriting, and her vision for this skeleton is perfect. I am so glad that I finally got to ink him up today.
For this card, I stamped the image in black Versafine ink onto a window shape that was diecut using a set from My Favorite Things. Then I added the panel of black gingham paper from A Muse Studio across the card front, later adding the orange glitter strip and heart which were cut from paper by Doodlebug Designs. Lastly, I used my Wplus9 banner die to cut the black banner, which was heat embossed with the sentiment.
I hope you will play along with us this week! There are already some amazing projects in the gallery, and I am excited to see more. Hopefully I can squeeze in some extra crafty time this weekend and see you again soon.
Thanks so very much for stopping by!
Hope you’ve all enjoyed the weekend! I’ve seen a lot of Halloween cards in blogland lately and thought I should get started on mine too, so I inked up my Hero Arts spiderweb background stamp and stamped it onto pebble cardstock; after that I added the glittery spider sticker, stamped the sentiment…then called it a day! I am going to enter this into the Moxie Fab World Focal Point Challenge too.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts spider web, A Muse Studio sentiment; Paper: A Muse Studio; Ink: A Muse Studio Seattle and Orange; Other: Jolee’s sticker
Thank you ALL so very very much for all of your sweet comments and support as I join Danielle Walls on her new journey with Neat and Tangled Stamps. Even though I have been crafting and blogging for a few years now, I am still amazed by the kindess of the people who live in my computer. My heart is happy because of you, so thank you! And I am sure Danielle will be grinning from ear to ear all week.

Today we’re featuring a set called Halloween Scene, a sweet set for the spooky day, and it will be available for purchase in the store on Friday, August 10th at 8am EST. On my first card, I stamped the background with the chevron pattern from Little Tangles in Versamark onto some melon berry cardstock, and then stamped the ghost and stars in Memento ink onto some cream cardstock, which was layered onto another sheet of cream cardstock. The tail was added to make it look as though the ghost is flying. I then added the scrabble tiles by adhering them to some melon berry ribbon, and layering that over the cream panel.
For my next card, I used traditional Halloween colors on a mini card, using the haunted house as the focal point. The house was stamped onto pebble cardstock, and was layered over the fence diecut and the sentiment strip. All of that was mounted onto the Venetian tile print paper in burano.
For this card, I went a little more scrappy, using stickers and patterned papers from SEI. Here, I used only the sentiment from Halloween Scene, adding some clear heat embossed stars from the set onto the ends of the sentiment to draw more attention to it.
And lastly, we have a card that uses some masking on the house and fence, adding a ghost that was stamped and trimmed from vellum peeking out from behind the panel. The yellow banner was stamped with the chevron stamp used on the first card above, and was adhered to the base above a glittered strip just before adding the sentiment flag.
Head on over to the Neat and Tangled Blog to see more projects made with this adorable set, and be sure to enter the contests while you’re there!
Have an amazing day!

It has been too long since I’ve played along with the ColourQ Challenge! This week’s colors struck me just right, mostly because I’ve got little bits of Rich Razzleberry (RR) stockpiled in my craft room and various scraps of all the others colors are strewn across the room right now.
I started off with a RR base and added some of Amuse Studio’s woodgrain paper as a background and then stitched along the edge after adding the strip of lime green patterned paper from Echo Park.
I got a little fancy with the Plum Divine Twine, RR ribbon and PTI button with small BOO! tag, as well as some leaf pins from My Little Yellow Bicycle:
