8 Happy Nights

By Suzanne

_DSC0019

Hey hey hey! Hope your weekend was fun!

Today I have this card to share for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps; Michele designed the greatest Hanukkah set called 8 Happy Nights. I paper pieced the star and stamped the sentiment in dark blue ink. The rest of the card involved some simple layering and foam tape. I think this could be fun to make with a variety of blue patterns for the star.

Head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog for more inspiration from the team all week long!

Hi everyone! I wanted to post a card that I made for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Peek Week. My trip last weekend left me not knowing what day it was, and I missed ‘my day’ to post; here I am now!

I just wanted to let you know that Michele released some great new sets this week…on this card, I used Merry Kiss-mas:

CAS-ual Fridays #79: Winter Blues

By Suzanne

_DSC0002

Hiya! It’s time for this week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, and this week’s theme is to make a winter card using blue!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is this week’s sponsor! There is a BRAND NEW release this week, so be sure to head on over to check it out!
I used the brand new set called Snowflake Greetings, and paired it with the Hero Arts diecut, which was embellished using some blue buttons and Hero Arts Hues pearls and bling.
This is a two week challenge, so you have plenty of time to play. :)
I also come with sad news that this will be my last challenge with CAS-ual Fridays. I’ve fallen upon an amazing opportunity at work, the kind that I can’t say no to, and it will take a considerable amount of my time in additional to my normal responsibilities. I also have some other career choices to be making at the same time, and for clarity of mind I need to step down from the team. It has been an honor to play alongside this star-studded and most delightful team and I am so grateful to Michele for the opportunity. I will miss them so much. I am not leaving this hobby for good, though, as it is truly a huge stress release for me, and I enjoy sharing what I make with all of you. Thank you all for your amazing support- it has meant the world to me.
Hugs,
Suzanne

CAS-ual Fridays #78: So Torn

By Suzanne

_DSC0001

Happy Friday! Very early this morning I am heading out for a weekend conference for work, so I hope you all make up for my lost crafty time while I am away. :)

Today I have a card to share for this week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, which is to make a card using something torn. Our sponsor this week is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, and you can see here a peek of some of the fun stuff coming your way during this month’s release!

This card started with a Bazzill green card base, to which I added some white layers that were stamped using Impress Inks. The mistletoe was embellished using mini bling from Recollections, and I added a strip of raspberry fizz cardstock from PTI to separate the sentiment from the image.

I would have used red instead of bright pink but I am all out of mini red bling, and so are both Michael’s in my area! Ack! It’s all good. I am a sucker for the non-traditional colors anyway. :)

Have a great weekend!

We have a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge today, and this week we’re challenging you to make a card for a boy! The prize this week is a gift card to Simon Says Stamp and a spot as our guest designer:

I used an A Muse Studio set called Ahhnouncing along with a SU! striped embossing folder. Very CAS but I think it makes such a cute card for a bunch of different occasions.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays 76: Kraft On

By Suzanne

_DSC0038

TGIF! It’s time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge and this week we’re challenging you to incorporate kraft into your creation. At first glance my card may seem like a whole lot of layers, but the truth is that the kraft tag is all one piece - it’s a Pebbles tag that came that way. So perfect and easy to use for this challenge.

Our sponsor this week is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - you could win a sweet gift card to the store! I used a sentiment from Truth Is on the banner diecut, which was layered over some Crate Paper patterned paper.

They stamp amazingly! Hope you’ll join us and that you have a fun weekend planned! Thanks for stopping by…

CAS-ual Fridays 75: Over the Edge

By Suzanne

Yippee!!! For another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This is my first time posting on a Friday as part of the group. “Get your party on!” because it’s time to make a project with an element that extends beyond the base.

For my card this week, I used American Crafts papers because I thought the colors were party perfect, and the stamps were provided by this week’s sponsor. Trust me when I tell you that you will want to run on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog to find out more because there may be some prizes involved! *wink wink*

The images were heat embossed in white over the patterned papers and the panel was mounted onto a raspberry fizz cardstock base. The element that I designed to hang off the left side of the card is the bright yellow paper tab which was cut with an A Muse Studio pinking border die.

I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store on the challenge blog, including the rest of the team’s creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a fun weekend!

CAS-ual Fridays 74: Put Your Heart into It

By Suzanne

_DSC0037

Hey everyone! It’s time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, and this week’s challenge is to incorporate hearts into your project, which is fitting since our sponsor this week is i {heart} papers!

Rather than use dies or stamps, I used some Hero Arts heart pearls on this card for my husband. Yes, it’s pink. I am not the best with manly cards. I stamped the Tim Holtz sentiment onto the diecut frame and later mounted over some My Minds Eye papers. The scalloped edge was diecut and stamped using a set from Clear and Simple Stamps - LOVE this!

Here you get a better view of the heart bling and the piercing.
So what are your plans for the weekend? Anything good? I hope to do some more crafting and maybe some napping! Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays 73: For the Girls

By Suzanne

Today is a very special Saturday for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge because we are helping A Muse Studio kickoff their promotion for breast cancer awareness month. For all of the details, please see this post on the CFC blog - there’s a random drawing this week just for commenting! (Our regularly scheduled prize for the month is also scheduled!)

A Muse Studio is giving away a free stamp set (plus $3 shipping + taxes) for this very special month. It’s called Fight Like a Girl, and it’s the set that I used on my card today. Our challenge this week was to make a card for a special woman in our life.

_DSC0020
I wanted to create a card that could be given anytime to someone in need of extra love. For cancer patients, this comes not only when they are going through treatment, but also during recovery and every time they go back back for checkups. “Scanxiety” is the term that is often used to describe the stress leading up to annual scans, and I made this card with that particular situation in mind. I used the smallest die in the A Muse Studio poinsettia die set to diecut several flowers from Shell cardstock, and then added some A Muse Studio pearls to the centers of each one. The sentiment (from Fight Like a Girl) was stamped in their Slate ink.
I am humbled by the opportunity to do cancer research every day; if your life has been affected by other types of cancer besides breast cancer, I would love for everyone to know that research in one type of cancer truly has the ability to help all the cancers. With that in mind, I would LOVE for everyone to play along in this week’s challenge and help us to increase awareness for this disease!
Hugs! xoxo
