Bundle of joy

By Suzanne

_DSC0004Hello!! I am sharing some happy news that a card that I made was featured in Northridge Publishing’s newsletter today - thanks to everyone for their sweet emails! The magazine has gone digital and has a new format, and it’s still my favorite to read. This card that was mailed back to me today - it was published in the March issue of CARDS magazine, and it was made using Crate Paper’s Lil Bo Peep line:

It’s no secret that this is my favorite paper company. Have you seen Crate’s sneak peeks this week? I don’t know about you, but Christmas papers that have pink in them make me smile - check these out! How about you? Do you have a favorite paper company? Any other peeks that I should see? I’d love to know!

XO,
Suzanne

Neat and Tangled Stamps: May Release Day 1

By Suzanne

_DSC0006

Happy Monday, everyone! Today marks the first day of the May release from Neat and Tangled Stamps, and today we are featuring cards made with the new Sparkle and Shine set.

For my first card above, I first scored chevrons along the bottom part of the card. Then I stamped the “You Rock” sentiment in a variety of colors, adding the diamond image at the end. I chose ink colors that match the spritzes that I used. At the end, I added a clear button that was threaded with some white crochet thread.

_DSC0014

My second card reflects the very last of my Crate Paper Pretty Party collection. *sigh* I started this card with the white Hero Arts crochet trim, and started to add the layers of paper and stickers until I found a great spot for the “Sparkle and Shine” sentiment as well as the coordinating stars that were stamped in gold ink and hand cut. I also added some Pretty Pretty Pink Satin sequins to embellish the card, as well as some white acrylic paint dots.

And there we have it: one CAS and graphic card, and one layered and girly one. :) If you’d like to see more design team projects using the Sparkle and Shine set, head on over to the Neat and Tangled blog, where there’s also a chance to win a prize! These sets will be available for purchase on Wednesday, but we’re also super excited to announce that they can also be found at i {heart} papers, Simon Says Stamp, and Absolutely Everything!

See you tomorrow for Day 2!

Party Day with Neat and Tangled

By Suzanne

_DSC0009

Hi there! Just popping in really quick to let you know that I’m sharing a card over on the Neat and Tangled Stamps blog today!

Hope your weekend is going well! I got to meet my sister’s new puppy…SO cute, but such a peanut. She has to gain some more weight before she can come home though. Today I am taking a Project Life class, hoping to chip away at my album a little bit more. One of these days I will share some pics.

A baby boy card and some thanks…

By Suzanne

_DSC0007

Hey there! I want to share this card with all of you - it was published in CARDS back in January, but I am so happy to be sending it off to some friends who had a baby boy the other day.

I also want to thank everyone who played along in the Ugliest Card Ever Blog Hop on April Fool’s Day - thank you all for having such a great sense of humor and joining in the fun. Maybe we will do it again next year!

I put together some fun crafty goodies to give away as a prize to one of the players (chosen at random), and the winner is:

#30: Bev

Bev, congratulations! I left a note for you on your blog so I can ship these to you. There’s a fun assortment of dies, stamps, chipboard, and inky fun things for you, as well as oodles of baker’s twine samplers.

Hopefully, I can get crafty this week. I tried to make a card tonight but after 4 attempts, I just gave up! Wishing for better luck tomorrow…

_DSC0030

Hello, hello! I am back with another Lil’ Inker Designs post today because we are sponsoring this month’s CARDS Blog Challenge! This month’s challenge is to use these gorgeous colors on a project:

I couldn’t resist using the Maggie Holmes collection from Crate Paper for this challenge, and love how all these Lil’ Inker goodies look here!

The ombre tag is from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection…and I curled my twine using Distress Stickles:

Lucky Day

By Suzanne

_DSC0004

Maybe I should have titled this post (un)Lucky! - I made this card for this week’s Muse Card Club challenge, and it looks like I missed the deadline, but the great news is that you can view all of this week’s entries here and vote for your favorites through tomorrow!

Therese Calvird was this week’s muse, and I was inspired by her frame and bow, but I went with a St. Patty’s Day theme using a SU! image called Lucky Day.

Thanks for stopping by!

March Cloud9 Blog Hop

By Suzanne

_DSC0008

Hi there! The Cloud9 Blog Hop starts today and our team has so many fun projects to share!

Our inspiration photo for this month totally stumped me, or maybe I should say that I stumped myself because I chose the photo. LOL! I won’t tell you how many failed attempts at watercolor I made before tossing that idea out the window. I hope you all have much more luck than I did, because this image is gorgeous:

I decided to use an older Wplus9 set called Ever After on this card. It was released before I ever found the company and I first saw these flowers on Amy Kolling’s blog several weeks ago in this post. I lucked out and found the set for sale on Splitcoast, and am going to be hanging on tight to this one. The frame and sentiment were cut using Label Layers 1 die and its coordinating stamp set, Filigreed Frames. I also added some marks in light brown around the sentiment using a circular droplet image from Folk Art Flurries.

Oh and by the way, I totally took your advice, Leigh Penner, and decided not to hoard these new Crate papers!

Neat and Tangled Release Day 1

By Suzanne

_DSC0027

It’s time for another Neat and Tangled Stamps release and today we are featuring projects made with On the Strip 2!

On my first project, I used the mini-washi strip to stamp two bars across the bottom of my card onto patterned paper, in a caramel color that matches the sentiment stickers above. I then tied some crochet thread between the two bars:

On my next card, I combined cream, gray and gold to make a wedding card. I stamped the dotted washi stamp from this set onto the cardstock first, and then I used circle punches to cut the circles in an interlocking (not overlapping) pattern:

I added the Prima flower and some twine, along with the sentiment from the previously released Fresh Blooms.

If you loved the original On the Strip, you are going to love this second edition too! Head on over to the Neat and Tangled blog to see more of today’s projects!

Lil’ Inker Designs Release, Day 3

By Suzanne

_DSC0001

It’s Day 3 of Lil’ Inker Designs’ release hop, our final day featuring products that have been released over the last two days.Yep, “anything goes” today!

If you’re hopping along with the team, then you may have arrived here from Jen del Muro’s blog, but if you’re lost along this hop, you can always head on over to the Lil’ Inker Designs blog to start at the beginning.

For my first card, I diecut the colorful herringbone paper using the Connected Circles die and added the sentiment from Awesomesauce on top. I then added the flower and mounted it all to that gorgeous green patterned paper from Crate Paper.

_DSC0020

Before I stitched everything together, I added three Gift Bow Topper diecuts as a border - love how this looks!

_DSC0001

For my second card, I made a tall and skinny card that is slightly wider than the width of the Notebook die, embossing the kraft card base with the Circles and Diamonds Stitched Pattern die.

_DSC0013

I added the sentiment and coordinating notebook lines from the Doodle Stamp set, later adding the small paper clip, twine and pink pearls.

Here’s a peek at all the products that have been released this week:

Hope that you’ll keep on hopping for a chance to win one of the Lil’ Inker Designs $10 credits hidden on one of our blogs!

Your next stop on the hop is Alicia Thelin’s blog!

Thanks so very much for all of your sweet comments these last few days!
