Made with Love

By Suzanne

Here’s another Kansas Kreation…using Hero Arts this time!

The set is called Love Jar, and I also used the coordinating jar die. The white cardstock has a woodgrain texture to it, but it doesn’t appear well in the photo…

Have a fun weekend,

With Love

Happy Wednesday! I’ve made another project using Avery Elle’s Simply Tags: Everyday stamps and dies, designed by the one and only Nina Yang! These tags are the perfect size - not too small, not too big at 2.75×1.5 inches in size. I embellished this project using some Glitz patterned paper and Simon Says Stamp wooden hearts and dotted kraft envelope.

So cute, just like Nina! ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Featuring Nina Yang for Avery Elle

By Suzanne

_DSC0002

Hello! I am back from my trip to visit Laurie, Amy and Jen, with lots of Kansas Kreations! I will share them here throughout the next week or so. I had so much fun and am so thankful for the chance to hang out with these beautiful ladies - extra special thanks to Laurie for opening her home to me! xoxo

I packed light for my trip; I brought a few Simon Says Stamp card kits and Nina Yang’s new sets from Avery Elle - these are what I am featuring this week. Today’s card uses Simply Tags: Everyday along with the coordinating dies:

Didn’t Nina do such a fantastic job designing these sets and dies? I am so proud of her! I think this makes for such a sweet wedding card.

Have an awesome day…my vacation continues for a few weeks here, so I am off to do some cleaning, shopping and more packing!

Lil’ Inker Designs Release, Day 3

By Suzanne

_DSC0001

It’s Day 3 of Lil’ Inker Designs’ release hop, our final day featuring products that have been released over the last two days.Yep, “anything goes” today!

If you’re hopping along with the team, then you may have arrived here from Jen del Muro’s blog, but if you’re lost along this hop, you can always head on over to the Lil’ Inker Designs blog to start at the beginning.

For my first card, I diecut the colorful herringbone paper using the Connected Circles die and added the sentiment from Awesomesauce on top. I then added the flower and mounted it all to that gorgeous green patterned paper from Crate Paper.

Before I stitched everything together, I added three Gift Bow Topper diecuts as a border - love how this looks!

For my second card, I made a tall and skinny card that is slightly wider than the width of the Notebook die, embossing the kraft card base with the Circles and Diamonds Stitched Pattern die.

I added the sentiment and coordinating notebook lines from the Doodle Stamp set, later adding the small paper clip, twine and pink pearls.

Here’s a peek at all the products that have been released this week:

Hope that you’ll keep on hopping for a chance to win one of the Lil’ Inker Designs $10 credits hidden on one of our blogs!

Your next stop on the hop is Alicia Thelin’s blog!

Thanks so very much for all of your sweet comments these last few days!

Monday Mood Board: Navy, Coral & Kraft

By Suzanne

My photo has been removed because the card is out for publication. Thanks for looking!

I’ve plopped the Pioneer Woman’s lasagna in the oven and jumping onto the computer really quickly to post a card that I made this morning for Dawn’s Monday Mood Board challenge, which was to use navy, coral and kraft on a project using at least one Wplus9 image:

I started off with the Basic Grey PB&J patterned paper, along with the glassine baggie and doily, and just started layering until I had a good idea for what I wanted to do. Then I pulled out my Wplus9 stamps and decided to stamp the leaves from Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions in navy onto the navy paper, and then I went ahead and stamped the frame from Brothers and Sisters in peach, adding the sentiment from Very Vintage Greetings in navy and the heart from Sweet Nothings in kraft behind it (I stamped off once before adding the heart).

The SU! ribbon seemed like the perfect addition since I thought I needed more kraft, and then the gold sequins from Neat and Tangled finished off the card.

So, are you going to watch the Oscars tonight? Any favorites? Last night we watched “Argo,” and I think I liked it much more than either “Lincoln” or “Zero Dark Thirty,” so my fingers are crossed for the hometown native Ben Affleck.

Have a fun night!

CASADIA: Too Much Love

By Suzanne

_DSC0016

Who doesn’t love a little CASADIA, especially on Valentine’s Day?! I am joining in on Wida’s fun card chain today. This began way back when Jennifer Rzasa CASE’d Laura Bassen, and then Wida CASE’d Jen… kinda of like a paper form of the game of telephone. Dozens of cards later…here I am!

My spot in line comes after Nora Noll, who made this card:

What I really love about Nora’s card is the general layout and the Valentine’s theme, so I grabbed the Simon Says February Card Kit and went to work. Right away I knew I wanted to use the doily and the envelope to mimic Nora’s circle and tag layering, but I used ribbon as my vertical element instead of stamping and diecuts as she did. I also decided to stamp the long sentiment alongside the ribbon too.

_DSC0040

It took me a few tries to get the flower and ribbon to look right to me. There were a few failed attempts at a bow, then a knot, and then I decided on the layered ribbon look, adding some crochet thread behind the flower as well. The finishing touch were the three small blush pearls in the bottom corner.

Thanks so much for having me, Wida! If you would like to learn more about CASADIA or Wida, head on over to her blog here!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Cloud9 February Blog Hop: XO

By Suzanne

_DSC0025

I am reporting from storm central with a card for this month’s Cloud9 Blog Hop, which starts today at 10am. I have been passing the time with cooking, crafting and QVC (because normal TV has ceased to exist with all the network coverage of the snow). This month’s inspiration photo was a fun one for me - the simplicity in each of the treat bags, as well as the stripes in the background, are what I tried to incorporate into my card.

I used two different Wplus9 sets on my card: Background Builders, Hearts and Love You More, as well as the Timeless Tags die.

I hope you’ll join in on all the fun…the hop lasts for three days, so you have plenty of time to join us.

XO,
Suzanne

world card making day blog hop

By Suzanne

Time for a blog hop!

A little while ago I signed up with A Muse Studio and I finally got around to unpacking my new supplies the other night. (The box sat on the floor for about a week while I was prepping for the lung cancer walk.) This blog hop was the perfect opportunity for me to play with my goodies for the first time, plus I needed to make my hubby an anniversary card! We’re celebrating 5 years!

I colored the heart-shaped rhinestone with a Copic marker, and the rocket was colored using a blender pen and my Ocean ink pad. Oh yeah, and about the inks: believe all the hype! They’re magnificent if you love pigment inks. :)

The next stop on this blog hop is Dana Vincent, but please be sure to visit all these other great blogs along the way!
