Party time!

By Suzanne

Tonight we are going out to celebrate my sister’s graduation and I made this card for her using this week’s sketch at Retrosketches, some Glitz Design papers, and a stamp from My Favorite Things. The polka dotted paper reminded me of confetti, which seemed like a perfect fit for this party!

The sketch is based on a card that Laurie made - hope you can check it out!

By Suzanne

Yay for Friday! Let’s finish the week with one more Avery Elle card, okay? (You can see how much fun I had with this set on my trip, right?) :)

The bokeh effect on this Glitz patterned paper is so fun, and goes with sequins so well! Many thanks to Laurie for giving me the flower and the doily!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

With Love

Happy Wednesday! I’ve made another project using Avery Elle’s Simply Tags: Everyday stamps and dies, designed by the one and only Nina Yang! These tags are the perfect size - not too small, not too big at 2.75×1.5 inches in size. I embellished this project using some Glitz patterned paper and Simon Says Stamp wooden hearts and dotted kraft envelope.

So cute, just like Nina! ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Yippee for another Lil’ Inker Designs release! Today is Day 1 of a 3-day release hop, and if you’re hopping along with the team then you may have arrived here from Sarah Jay’s blog. And if you’re lost along this hop, you can always head on over to the Lil’ Inker Designs blog to start at the beginning.

Today we are featuring projects made with the new Mom and Dad dies and coordinating sentiment stamps, all of which are available in the store today.

For my first card, I used the Dad die and the “Hey” sentiment to make a manly birthday card for my father-in-law. I used patterned paper from Glitz Design’s Uncharted Waters on both of my cards today, but I paired it with the birthday equation card and brad from Crate Paper on my Dad card:

I added the white splatter using some acrylic paint and then some tiny staples to make it seem more manly.

For my second card, I used the Mom die to make a window card:

I adhered the matching red heart to the acetate window, and stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts ink:

I also added an enamel dot from My Minds Eye and some crochet thread to the top to finish it off.

I hope you keep on hopping because there are two Lil’ Inker Designs $10 credits available as prizes to folks who comment along the way.Your next stop on the hop is the Lil’ Inker Designs blog!

Pattern Play Day 1: Hang in There

By Suzanne

_DSC0010

Happy Monday! We are gearing up for another big snowstorm here in Boston, so I hunkered down and did my “homework” for day 1 of the Pattern Play class. There were several awesome videos this morning - I watched them as soon as I got to the office, and then I made this card using some of the tips and tricks that we learned today.

I made this card using the Simon Says Stamp February 2013 Card Kit, which contains the “I like your style” stamp set and these patterned papers from Glitz’s Hello Friend collection. I think I found a good mix of pattern sizes in that stash. I used Nestabilities to cut the card base and inner circle (doing my best to center it!), and handcut the flower after stamping in dark gray. I then used a gray marker to color the edges of the flower:

I also layered the flower onto white paper as Jennifer suggested doing. I stamped it in a very light gray ink so that the ink underneath would not cast any dark shadows from underneath the flower.

Lovin’ this class! See you soon,
Suzanne
