Our Last Cloud9 Blog Hop

By Suzanne

It’s the 9th, which has been the day of the month when the Cloud9 Blog Hop has started for the last year, and I write this post with a heavy heart. You may have seen the earlier post on the Cloud9 blog letting everyone know that this will be our last hop. It hasn’t taken off as well as I would have liked, and I’d really love to see more folks playing along in Dawn’s Monday Mood Board challenges, so this is not a goodbye…it’s more like a hope-to-see-you-on-the-other-side-of-town. ;)

Because I am currently away with possibly unreliable internet access (I wrote this post several days ago before we left), I wanted you all to know that the hop will be delayed until the 13th, but it will run for a full week this time.

This month’s theme is ANYTHING GOES - I used my Blanket Stitched Blooms to make this cute flower pot for the challenge this month. I hope you will join us!

xoxo,
Suzanne

March Cloud9 Blog Hop

Hi there! The Cloud9 Blog Hop starts today and our team has so many fun projects to share!

Our inspiration photo for this month totally stumped me, or maybe I should say that I stumped myself because I chose the photo. LOL! I won’t tell you how many failed attempts at watercolor I made before tossing that idea out the window. I hope you all have much more luck than I did, because this image is gorgeous:

I decided to use an older Wplus9 set called Ever After on this card. It was released before I ever found the company and I first saw these flowers on Amy Kolling’s blog several weeks ago in this post. I lucked out and found the set for sale on Splitcoast, and am going to be hanging on tight to this one. The frame and sentiment were cut using Label Layers 1 die and its coordinating stamp set, Filigreed Frames. I also added some marks in light brown around the sentiment using a circular droplet image from Folk Art Flurries.

Oh and by the way, I totally took your advice, Leigh Penner, and decided not to hoard these new Crate papers!

Cloud9 February Blog Hop: XO

By Suzanne

I am reporting from storm central with a card for this month’s Cloud9 Blog Hop, which starts today at 10am. I have been passing the time with cooking, crafting and QVC (because normal TV has ceased to exist with all the network coverage of the snow). This month’s inspiration photo was a fun one for me - the simplicity in each of the treat bags, as well as the stripes in the background, are what I tried to incorporate into my card.

I used two different Wplus9 sets on my card: Background Builders, Hearts and Love You More, as well as the Timeless Tags die.

I hope you’ll join in on all the fun…the hop lasts for three days, so you have plenty of time to join us.

XO,
Suzanne

Cloud9 December Blog Hop

How’s your weekend going? Ours has been going great and even better now that I am able to share this card with you. I made it for this month’s Cloud9 Blog Hop, using several Wplus9 goodies. This month, I chose two coordinating inspiration pics:

I was inspired mostly by the color scheme of grey, yellow and red, and when I went through my holiday papers, I noticed that the City Sidewalks collection from Pink Paislee included all of those. I also decided to try something less CAS than usual, and this was NOT easy. This card took me 2.5 hours! For real! LOL!

I used the Simple Snowflake and Hearts and Clouds dies, as well as a sentiment from Iconic Christmas, which was stamped in SU! ink. I thought that it went really well with the Santa diecut from the City Sidewalks line. I would have loved to incorporate some ribbon or twine here, but I wasn’t sure where to squeeze it in.

I hope you will join us at Cloud9 this month! Your card does not have to be a holiday card - you just need to use at least one Wplus9 image…everyone is eligible to win a prize, too.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the holiday season!

Hugs,
Suzanne

This is my second post for today! For my CAS-ual Fridays post, please scroll down.

Today, the November Blog Hop over on the Cloud9 Blog begins! I hope you’ll break out your Wplus9 stamps and join us over the next few days. Here is this month’s inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the wreath hanging in the window and the red polka dot bag on the floor. I used the Simple Snowflake and Hearts & Clouds dies to diecut the center snowflake, which I then coated with some glitter.

I stamped the sentiment from Classic Christmas in a grey ink from SU! and lined the bottom of the card with silver washi and red dot paper, which are both from A Muse Studio.

I am so happy with how this came out and can’t wait to send it!

Hugs,
Suzanne

Cloud9 August Blog Hop

By Suzanne

The August Cloud9 Blog Hop goes live today at 10am EST, and I’m playing along using the Wplus9 stamp set called Season of Thanks. I’ve had it for some time and wanted to give it a try. I think their latest release has me really looking forward to Fall!

I drew this sketch as the jumping board for everyone’s cards this month. What do you think? What type of challenges do you like best? I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone else came up with!!! That’s the best part of all this for me.

The blog hop goes on for 3 days to give everyone plenty of time to play along, and there are prizes too. You can find all the details over on the Cloud9 blog. I hope to see you there!

Cloud9 Blog Hop: July 2012

By Suzanne

Today is the first Cloud9 Blog Hop, and I’m playing along using two different Wplus9 stamp sets: Damask Doilies and Super Star.

I was inspired by the cake on the table in this photo, and drew inspiration from the colors as well as the circular shapes that have been placed at an angle on the cake. I started my card by cutting the colored strips 1.25″ in width and embossing the Damask Doilies images with clear embossing powder. I then embossed the sentiment from Super Star onto the embossing (I wasn’t sure if embossing on embossing would work, but it did!).

Then I got stuck. Really really stuck. I had no idea what to do with the panel. I tried at least 6 different things. At one point there was a bow, a tag, navy, teal, debossing with the Wplus9 chevron impression plate…texting with Laurie, Renee and Jessica…I even made another card with patterned papers and stitching, but came back to this one in the end. Maybe I will update later with that one, but I want to sleep on it first. ;)

The blog hop goes on for 3 days to give everyone plenty of time to play along, and there are prizes too. You can find all the details over on the Cloud9 blog. I hope you’ll join us!
