RCC59: Paper Piecing with Laurel Seabrook

By Suzanne

It feels like forever since I’ve posted a card for The Ribbon Carousel Challenge! Some scheduling switches between the teams on our Crew was the reason, but Team A is back with a great one this week: PAPER PIECING! Our awesome crewmate, Laurel Seabrook, is the hostess…breakout your scissors and favorite patterned papers. This is a great technique.
If you really want to knock Laurel’s socks off…forget the fact that she has bookoodles of publications (including a cover!)…make a card for someone who LOVES to iron! ;)

For my card this week, I was inspired by this week’s Retrosketches Challenge, as well as last week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS color challenge. I paper pieced the cute bug from PS using some My Minds Eye paper, and filled the wings with glitter.

I used a traditional white grosgrain ribbon because I wanted the button and yellow cord to stand out. I love the look of the pale purple cardstock from A Muse Studio - so soft!
I hope you will join us this week! Hugs!

CAS-ual Fridays #53: Punchy

By Suzanne

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a great week and that you’ll have an even better weekend. I’ve got some fun crafty plans, so I am definitely looking forward to it. This week’s challenge over on the CAS-ual Fridays blog is to make a card using your paper punches and/or dies; we’re also being sponsored by Lawn Fawn.
This week’s prize is a $25 gift certificate to their store… :)

My card came together pretty quickly this morning, because you all know how much I love working with patterned papers! Lawn Fawn’s is great - I love how vivid the colors are and the patterns in them have just the right amount of detail for me. The sentiment stamp is also from one of their collections. I used Nestabilities to diecut the circles and added the Martha Stewart sticker flower, and was pretty much done with this one.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday.
