This is my last post for Summer Card Camp 2 - these 3 weeks went by so fast! I was really inspired by Debby Hughes’ vintage card the other day, so I CASE’d her flower technique using one of this week’s sketches; I did my best to get as close to this week’s color combo as I could using the patterned papers in my stash.
I have been saving those felt leaves for so long - I tore them off another flower and added them to this one, but both pieces are from Prima. The sentiment is from Hero Arts’ Year Round Sentiments collection, and I used Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges of the cream cardstock.
It has been such a busy week, so I’m really looking forward to the weekend!
Here’s my latest creation for Summer Card Camp 2! Today’s challenge was to create a card using this week’s color scheme and holiday stamps on a non-holiday card. As if my craft room wasn’t a mess enough…I pulled out my Christmas Box O’ Joy (where I stash all my holiday crafty supplies) and got going. I posted on Facebook the other day that I really hope there’s a video on the last day to teach us how to clean our crafty messes really fast!
For my card, I used two different holiday sets from Hero Arts: their Snow Dots background stamp and the tree stamps and dies from Holiday Cheer. I paired these with that fun sentiment from Kristina Werner’s Happy Every Day set. The oval and chevron dies are from Papertrey Ink, and the brown rhinestones are from Hero Arts.
I hope that you have a fun weekend ahead of you!

Hi again! Today I have the awesome pleasure of being a part of the Textured Fun Blog Hop using Avery Elle’s Texture Tiles: Be Cool stamp set, which was designed by the super cute and super sweet Nina Yang. I used colors and a sketch from this week’s Summer Card Camp 2, and used emboss resist to highlight this fun stamp set.
I used PB&J papers from Basic Grey, along with Distress Inks, Hero Arts hexagon dies and Nina’s other Avery Elle set, Simply Tags: Everyday…and put together a quick little video explaining my approach to this card. It’s not an Oscar-winning performance but I hope it does the trick!
Here are the other lovely ladies on this hop with me. There will be three random winners (one for each stamp/die listed) drawn from comments left on all of our blogs, so be sure to enter for a chance to win! Please be sure to let me know If follow me in other places (on Bloglovin, Feedly, Flickr, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) because this gives you more chances to win! The winners will be announced on Nina’s blog on July 22nd.

Week 2 of Summer Card Camp 2 brings us a new color scheme and some fun new sketches, so I got busy with some more Verve goodies. These stamps and dies are from their Joyful Blooms collection.
I used the technique that Jennifer McGuire showed us in her video, which involved using a craft knife to make slits in your watercolor paper before adding your distress inks. I used Broken China on the flowers and then spritzed them with water to blend the color some more, but after they dried, I stamped the flower images in turquoise on top. I used my Signo white gel pen to add the dots:
I scored the card base using my Scor-Pal, and the white strip is embossed using a text impression plate from Papertrey Ink - sorry, I think it’s hard to see that in the photos.
I think this is the first time that I managed to squeeze in all the colors from a challenge at once! YAY! Have a great day!
Hope you’re having a fun day! I just wanted to post another card that I made for Summer Card Camp 2, this time using some stamps and dies from Verve; here I am using their Shining Star stamp set along with their Scallop Trim Trio and Starry dies. I was so lucky to win a generous Verve prize in a recent Mojo Monday challenge, and I couldn’t wait for these goodies to arrive in the mail! I was inspired by the Day 4 challenge to make a card in 10 minutes, though I admit that I came in at 11:27. I really loved how Jennifer Rzasa positioned her sentiment to that the “y” was fitted around the arrow; using a similar concept, I placed my sentiment so that it hangs over the edge of the stacked diecuts. I also covered the stars in vellum to soften the look of them just a little bit. I am nearly caught up at this point - there are some fun color combos added for Day 5, so maybe I will do some more crafting tonight!
I am back in action today with a card for Summer Card Camp 2 - I fell a little behind this week but I am committed to catching up by Monday. For day 2, I was inspired by Tami Hartley’s card on which she used acrylic paints and a stencil to create a fun background. A little hiccup for me, though, was that I don’t have any stencils or acrylic paint.
Instead, I thought I would use the negative diecut from my Lil’ Inker Pieced Chevron die and some spray mist to create a background, and then I stamped the Hero Arts houses across the front using Memento Luxe ink, which stamps like a dream. I added some pink hearts and a paper strip, as well as some yellow enamel dots. Those hearts were diecut using a SImon Says hearts die and the sentiment comes from their Like Your Style stamp set.
Today’s the second day of the Neat and Tangled Stamps release week, and today the team is featuring projects made with the new Ink Splash mini stamp set. I trimmed 3 shades of cardstock to be 1 inch wide and I adhered them to a piece of scrap paper to make one layer of paper, which was then stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder - I love how it kinda looks like water!
I added the sentiment from the previously released set called Sketchy Cupcakes beneath the embossed panel, and then I added the vellum butterfly diecut and some black rhinestones:
Since my color combination was inspired by day 1, week 1 of Summer Card Camp 2, I’ll be linking this up in the Gallery there. You can also find more Neat and Tangled inspiration on the store blog here - there are prizes up for grabs this week and I am sure you don’t want to miss it!
Summer Card Camp 2 started yesterday and I have this card to share for the Week 1 challenge, which was to make a card using a given color combination and one of three sketches. I took a little bit of liberty with the color combos: my “yellow” is the gold sparkle, and the mint/aqua color is my blue. But the rest of the colors are there: orange, pink and white. The papers come from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection, and the glittery embellishment is from Crate Paper - it was originally in the shape of a geotag, but I took it apart, paper punched it into a circle and then reassembled it.
I mounted everything onto white cardstock that was diecut using the Lil’ Inker’s stitched squares and added some enamel dots to finish it all off.
Nearing the end of Card Camp and I almost didn’t make the Thursday night deadline! I am a bad student!
