It’s Day 2 of the May release from Neat and Tangled Stamps, and today we are featuring cards made with the new Sunburst stamp.
I heat embossed the sunburst with clear embossing powder over the heart patterned paper from SEI. Next, I inked up the image with a variety of yellow and orange Distress Inks a la the emboss-resist technique. The last step was to use my iron to remove the shine of the clear embossing.
I then trimmed the image and mounted it on the matching orange cardstock from A Muse Studio, later adding the coordinating sentiment sticker from SEI and some Basic Grey enamel dots. SO FUN!
To see more design team projects using the Sunburst stamp, head on over to the Neat and Tangled blog, where there’s also a chance to win a prize! All of the sets from this release will be available for purchase tomorrow, but we’re also super excited to announce that they can also be found at i {heart} papers, Simon Says Stamp, and Absolutely Everything!
Have a great day! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I love playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, and today’s card is one that I made for tomorrow’s local gathering of A Muse Studio Creative Consultants. I am really looking forward to this because it’ll give me a much needed break from work and because I really am hoping to get some great ideas from these talented ladies!
This card features two new products from A Muse Studio: the new color called Burano and the new stamp set called Floral Duet. I love them both!
I added glitter to the flowers and mounted everything on Bermuda blue cardstock, also from A Muse. Those sparklers are from Kaiser and they can be found online at Ribbon Carousel.
The new A Muse Studio catalog is being released on February 1, and I am excited to see what other goodies they have in store for us since I haven’t gotten mine in the mail yet. If you ever have any questions about A Muse, please feel free to contact me anytime.
Happy Saturday!
Hello….homemade washi tape!
That’s the theme of this week’s Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey…and I went several rounds with the tape before I got the hang of it, ultimately having to emboss the ink on my tape to keep it from smudging:
I layered the summer sunrise cardstock after embossing the top layer with the Linen IP and then I added the sentiment strip, which was stamped with images from the Half and Half set.
That’s pretty much it! Pretty simple and fun!
This week’s Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World is “Treat Yourself!”…
I was inspired by the colors and all the layers of yumminess in this photo to make this card:
I also made this with a special friend in mind - I can’t wait to pop this in the mail for her!
Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}: Stamps: Verve sentiment; Paper: rustic cream, harvest gold, brown (SU!); Ink: dark chocolate; Other: JBS flower, twine, harvest gold button, tab punch (SU!), rhinestones (Recollections), corner rounder
Yup! Two posts in one day!
I visited my favorite local stamp shop this weekend and spent more than I had intended, partly because I found these fabulous rolled rose dies and partly because the place is just awesome. They hold a special place in my heart for being the only place that carried Cuttlebug C plates on this side of the Mississippi River during Christmas last year. They are called Absolutely Everything in Topfiled, MA and they even sell things online now. You should check them out!
I made a set of rolled roses to make a card for the lovely Renee‘s Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #42, also incorporating new patterned paper from Hero Arts and a sentiment from Verve. The blue and purple tones are blueberry and plum pudding from PTI:
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
Just a quickie card to share this morning - I made it a little while ago but took my time getting uploaded online. I love this sentiment from Verve and the colorfully fun paper is from American Crafts.
We’re getting ready for Irene here - I am not going camping, but my husband is still going to go. So Teddy Doggy and I are flying solo, which means more time for crafting (and work).
Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}: Stamps: Verve; Paper: American Crafts, SS White; Ink: Dark Chococale; Other: flower dies, twine, button, ribbon & clip (SU!)
Welcome to the Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop Challenge! This month’s challenge was to make a card inspired by the Pinterest photo Nichole posted in this link, which in brief was chock full o’ rainbow delight!
It has been over a month since I have made anything and I was really happy to be crafting again. I’ve rekindled my love of raspberry fizz after making this card!
The raspberry fizz card base was run through the Cuttelbug with the linen impression pate, and the rainbow strips of In Bloom patterned paper were glued to cardstock before die cutting them with the Mat Stack:
Happy Blog Hoppin’!
Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}: Stamps: Wonderful Words (& die); Paper: white & raspberry fizz, In Bloom PP; Ink: rich razzleberry (SU!); Other: raspberry rhinestones, Mat Stack die, banner die, corner rounder, linen impression plate
Oooooh yeah! It’s the March Blog Hop Challenge over at Papertrey Ink, and the goal for this month was to incorporate embroidery floss onto a project. I love embroidery floss. I have so much of it - my sisters and I used to make “friendship bracelets” all summer long as kids…did you do that? And eventually, I learned cross stitch from my sisters. Over the years, I have made some beautiful Christmas pieces for my mom and she hangs them every year in her house. I would love to find time to make one for ourselves one day.
Anyway, I came up with this card for you all today:
The inspiration for the layout comes from the Papercrafts Go-To Sketches call for submissions from a while ago. The card base is Smokey Shadow, and there are layers of true black and soft stone behind the patterned paper. I distressed the edges of the card with my scissors.
I am not gonna lie - lining up all of those beautiful sparkly stickers took a while! And I love using more than one strand of floss to make it stand out just a little bit more.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Edited to add: Yes, that’s me on the Papertrey Radio broadcast this morning.
Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}: Stamps: Say It with Style (sentiment); Paper: Aqua Mist, Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow,True Black, patterned paper (? - will update when I get home, LOL!); Ink: True black; Other: Sparkly flower stickers, Nesties, banner die, white embroidery floss, doily (supermarket bakery section)
Thanks to everyone who left a comment for the two giveaways. When I started this blog I had no idea if I would like it or not. I admit that I haven’t gotten around to particpating in as many challenges as I would have liked this year, but seeing all the nice things people have had to say has been really inspiring. I really appreciate it!
The member of the Papertrey Paper Dolls that won the $15 Starbucks gift card is Anika! Go for the hot cocoa, Anika! And the winner of the $10 PTI gift card is Barbara DeBose! Woo hoo!
Congratulations! I sent you PMs via the PTI forum to get your info. Giving stuff away is fun fun fun! (Somehow I feel like I should disclose that random numbers were genered using the statistical program called R. That’s the nerd in me showing right there!)
Now, back to business.
I made some cards this morning, and started to make them in duplicate. I think doing 2 or 4 of a certain card at a time is easier than doing one different card at a time. Does anyone else do this? Here’s what I drummed up today:
I hope you all have a fun day! We are heading out to dinner and a movie with some friends tonight, which means I need to get cracking on some work for a 7:30am meeting tomorrow. Gotta run! Bye!
